STANDING FOR JUSTICE
⚖️ Standing for Justice – Without Regret
I know that some people have questions about what happened during my time serving in Scotland Neck.
What I want the people of Martin County to know is simple I did my job, and I did it with integrity. Every decision I made was guided by fairness, truth, and the oath I took to protect and serve. I stood for justice then, and I will stand for justice now.
I don’t regret doing what was right, because I believe in treating every person with respect and doing what’s fair even when it’s not easy.
If faced with that same situation again, I would still stand strong, because my duty has always been and will always be to serve people with honesty, courage, and compassion.
That same commitment is what I will bring as your Sheriff of Martin County. I’ll fight for justice for you the same way I fought for it then with integrity, heart, and unwavering faith in doing what’s right.

💬 Community Support
I’ve always believed that doing what’s right means standing for truth, fairness, and justice even when it’s not easy. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to serve families and communities who know my heart and my commitment to doing what’s right.
Recently, the family of Latoya Lawrence shared their gratitude publicly for my role in seeking justice in her case. Their message means a great deal to me because it reflects what I’ve always tried to live by serving people with honesty, courage, and compassion.
“Latoya Lawrence’s family thanks you for all you did in Toya’s murder case. My family will help you in any way. Marvin Hilliard, you are not like them, so the Lord got you. Everyone who did wrong will be held accountable.”

I’m grateful for their words and for every person who has supported me along the way.
I will continue to stand for justice and to fight for what’s right because the people of Martin County deserve a Sheriff who listens, serves, and truly cares.
